Large portions of the lake is covered with these little guys, sort of a mini lily pad about 2 or 3 inches in diameter. Millions of em.

This is all we get? Getting in the boat from here was very difficult, getting out without falling in took a minor miracle.

There is a bridge very close to mile marker 3 on 5 mile road, it doesn't look like the easiest place to put in but we'll give it a try anyway.

The main put-in area with docks and such are located 8 miles north of Reedsport on 101 but Karen and I were looking for the outback so we took a right on 5 mile road just north of the old IP Gardiner Mill. This shot was taken from 5 mile road.
